Another week completed!! As everyone preps for the weekend festivities, headlining with Cinco De Mayo, across the pond our mates in Sydney, Australia are also celebrating....a fabulous fashion week. Aussie designers such as a personal fave of mine Sass + Bide are all down under showcasing their spring/summer 2013 collections. As Australian Fashion Week never disappoints, from the looks of the shows that have already debuted we are in for a succulent treat, fashion based of course! So today I leave you with one of my favorite street style images shot by Vogue's street style photographer Phil Oh. Sleek, sophisticated, and infinitely vibrant this image of a socialite walking to one of the many shows of Sydney fashion week, exudes Aussie charm and depicts why this is a fashion week not to be overlooked. ALICE IN WONDERLAND: THE PHOTO SHOOT
Hello angels!! To get right to business, I've been working like crazy lately, getting opportunities to style amazing photo shoots! One that I've recently worked on was for a beautiful actress by the name of Erica Rhodes, who I've met some time ago on the set of an Indie Film she was starring in. A few weeks ago my best friend and Make-up artist was asked to do make-up on this particular project, and when she told me the shoot had an Alice in Wonderland theme and they were in need of a stylist, I jumped at the opportunity. Fantasy and whimsicality are so very intriguing to me, and to incorporate them into a look was an absolute dream come true, as I'm am captivated by fairy tales. The look I choose for Erica for what would be the main ensemble of the day was a perfect combination of fantasy, high fashion, and modern flair. I put her in an incredible off the shoulder blouse with tiered lace ruffle detailing. For a modern touch, I had her wear an indigo denim skirt, with a black silk ribbon belt. For drama, we chose white thigh high stockings with blue gingham bow detailing. To finish off the look Erica wore black pumps, and flawless movie star make-up that included a sultry blood red lip. My favorite part of this look was the pearl and bow necklace that I placed in Erica's hair as a creative take on a head piece. This is one of my favorite styling tricks, which is incorporating jewelry and other accessories in ways that are unexpected, and in this case the perfect touch. Overall the photo shoot was a success, and made for an experience I will never forget, and it was all made possible by the amazing team I had the honor of working with. The talented Marisa Anhaltzer completed the make-up look, and the photos were taken by the incredible Lan Bui of Bui Brothers Photography. Along with Erica, these were the people who made the shoot a success and made my job that much easier, which in this industry is often hard to find. The pictures below (click to make larger) shot by Lan Bui, were the best takes of the day, as they depict the hard work and every detail that went into creating the fabulous final products. Hope you all enjoy them, and hope they are as much a fantasy to you as they are to me, as I am so very proud. xoxo DB

FABULOUS FRIDAY: "CHANGE CLOTHES"
Happy Fabulous Friday my fine friends!! Congratulations on making it through another work/school week!! The time has come to wind down, and prepare for the most anticipated time of the week...the weekend!! In honor of this "mini vacay" as I like to call it, I leave you guys with a fabulous video by no other than Jay Z himself. This song and video are from many years ago, but still prove to be one of my ALL TIME favorites. "Change Clothes" featuring Pharrell, is a creative depiction of what goes on at a runway show, while portraying the glamor that is fashion mixed with celebrity. From the countless super-star cameos, to the stunning models, and of course the urban chic fashion, the moment I saw this video in 2003, I was instantly mesmerized and knew that this was the world that I wanted to live, eat, and sleep in...the rest is history!! Now I want you all to enjoy this song, the incredible video, and let it be the beginning to what will be an incredible weekend! Stay fabulous xoxo DB

ALL ABOUT THE ACCESSORIES
Why hello my favorite fashion friends!! It's been a little while since my last post, but between styling shows, music videos, school projects, and trying to sneak in what resembles a social life, my poor little blog has been neglected. But not to fret, today I bring you another fabulous dose of fashion. As I mentioned before I've been extremely busy working with a client whose music career is on the brink of greatness, and I've had the honor of making sure that her journey has been perfectly styled in looks worthy of a pop princess. The past week has consisted of early mornings and late nights of formulating perfect outfits from head to toe... and somewhere in between vintage high waisted denim jean shorts and neon crop tops I've been inspired. I've come to realize more than ever what accessories can do for an outfit. Naturally, any fashionista would tell you the perfect accessories MAKE and outfit, but that has never proven to be more true than now. Mixing colors, textures, sizes, and styles have contributed to my creation of some of the most fun and trendy ensembles, making them instant crowd pleasers. My lesson of the day is have fun with the accessories that you incorporate into your outfits, and don't be afraid to mix things that normally wouldn't go together, chances are you end up with a fun look and a sure way to impress fashion forward friends. With that being said I leave you with a video on how to achieve a bold layered look mixing jewelry. Even if layering isn't your style, use it to to think of fun ways to mix up the treasures in your jewelry box and closet. Most importantly remember to have FUN!! This video is from the LEAF series on youtube, styled by celebrity stylists Monica Rose. Enjoy xoxo DB

DREAM SHOE OF SPRING 2012!!!
Every season there is always a shoe that makes me want to skip a month's rent and succumb to the prestige that goes along with purchasing a designer item. In the case of Spring 2012 I have two words...Christian Louboutin!! Although "Loubis" are my dream shoe EVERY season, something about that intriguing blood red sole, and Mr. Louboutin's genius and ever evolving design aesthetic that make me tremble in delight, this shoe in particular is dream worthy in various aspects, for example: The perfect skinny heel, the flattering ankle strap, the on-trend clear panels, the perfect cap toe, and remarkable red sole, these shoes are a piece of art to say the least!! Seen on various celebrities from Beyonce, Rihanna, and many others, we are sure to see many very lucky fashionistas running around town with these for the duration of spring in to the summer. So enjoy them, bask in their beauty, and dream along with me. xoxo DB

SUNDAY FUNDAY! PULLS, FITTINGS, AND COLOR!
Happy Sunday fashion mavens!! Hope you all had a fun and productive weekend. For some people the weekend was spent at a "little" music festival you may have heard of called COACHELLA, but unfortunately for the rest of us who were not there to partake in the bountiful hippy chic musical extravaganza, these past few days have been well...work!! For example, today I am pulling looks for a fitting I have this evening with a very special musical artist that I have the pleasure of styling for her upcoming show, as well as music video, (more on her later). So this means I will be spending the duration of my day turning my apartment into a department store showroom, playing with clothes, accessories, and SHOES, all while creating stage worthy ensembles! In the honor of this fashion filled day, and as the inspiration behind the looks I will be putting together for my client, I leave you with the beautiful image above, shot by one of my favorite photographers Tommy Ton for Style.com, depicting the greatest trend for spring/summer 2012...COLOR!! Hope this image inspires you as much as it does me! So enjoy, and let your imaginations run wild with all of the possible color combinations you can formulate from your own closets this spring! Sunday Funday xoxo DB

"STYLE MUSE": MY SPECIAL PUBLISHED PIECE
I like to think that in addition to fashion, writing and editorial work are my true calling in life. There is something about the eloquence and timelessness of the written word that really ignite a spark in my soul. As an aspiring fashion editor, it should come as no surprise that one of my most prized accomplishments to date is my first published piece in Cinhte Magazine, a limited edition print magazine that is published bi-monthly, and distributed across the nation. As a fashion writer there is no greater accomplishment than picking up a magazine from a newsstand and seeing your name featured as one of the contributors, a feeling I will never forget. Oddly enough this is something that I did not broadcast to many people other that close friends and family, feeling it was too special to be displayed amongst the countless animosity portrayed on social networks. However today I am telling the world and sharing with you all, that I am indeed a published writer, and elated to be so. So click here, head over to the site, flip through the beautiful pages, read my article ("Style Muse"), and see for yourselves why I am so completely in love with this line of work. Also this particular issue is still out on newsstands so pick one up or order online!! Enjoy xoxo DB
