FABULOUS FRIDAY: "CHANGE CLOTHES"

Happy Fabulous Friday my fine friends!! Congratulations on making it through another work/school week!! The time has come to wind down, and prepare for the most anticipated time of the week...the weekend!! In honor of this "mini vacay" as I like to call it, I leave you guys with a fabulous video by no other than Jay Z himself. This song and video are from many years ago, but still prove to be one of my ALL TIME favorites. "Change Clothes" featuring Pharrell, is a creative depiction of what goes on at a runway show, while portraying the glamor that is fashion mixed with celebrity. From the countless super-star cameos, to the stunning models, and of course the urban chic fashion, the moment I saw this video in 2003, I was instantly mesmerized and knew that this was the world that I wanted to live, eat, and sleep in...the rest is history!! ALL ABOUT THE ACCESSORIES

Why hello my favorite fashion friends!! It's been a little while since my last post, but between styling shows, music videos, school projects, and trying to sneak in what resembles a social life, my poor little blog has been neglected. But not to fret, today I bring you another fabulous dose of fashion. As I mentioned before I've been extremely busy working with a client whose music career is on the brink of greatness, and I've had the honor of making sure that her journey has been perfectly styled in looks worthy of a pop princess. The past week has consisted of early mornings and late nights of formulating perfect outfits from head to toe... and somewhere in between vintage high waisted denim jean shorts and neon crop tops I've been inspired. I've come to realize more than ever what accessories can do for an outfit. Naturally, any fashionista would tell you the perfect accessories MAKE and outfit, but that has never proven to be more true than now. Mixing colors, textures, sizes, and styles have contributed to my creation of some of the most fun and trendy ensembles, making them instant crowd pleasers. My lesson of the day is have fun with the accessories that you incorporate into your outfits, and don't be afraid to mix things that normally wouldn't go together, chances are you end up with a fun look and a sure way to impress fashion forward friends. DREAM SHOE OF SPRING 2012!!!

 

Every season there is always a shoe that makes me want to skip a month's rent and succumb to the prestige that goes along with purchasing a designer item. In the case of Spring 2012 I have two words...Christian Louboutin!! Although "Loubis" are my dream shoe EVERY season, something about that intriguing blood red sole, and Mr. Louboutin's genius and ever evolving design aesthetic that make me tremble in delight, this shoe in particular is dream worthy in various aspects, for example: The perfect skinny heel, the flattering ankle strap, the on-trend clear panels, the perfect cap toe, and remarkable red sole, these shoes are a piece of art to say the least!! Seen on various celebrities from Beyonce, Rihanna, and many others, we are sure to see many very lucky fashionistas running around town with these for the duration of spring in to the summer. SUNDAY FUNDAY! PULLS, FITTINGS, AND COLOR!

Happy Sunday fashion mavens!! Hope you all had a fun and productive weekend. For some people the weekend was spent at a "little" music festival you may have heard of called COACHELLA, but unfortunately for the rest of us who were not there to partake in the bountiful hippy chic musical extravaganza, these past few days have been well...work!! For example, today I am pulling looks for a fitting I have this evening with a very special musical artist that I have the pleasure of styling for her upcoming show, as well as music video, (more on her later). So this means I will be spending the duration of my day turning my apartment into a department store showroom, playing with clothes, accessories, and SHOES, all while creating stage worthy ensembles! "STYLE MUSE": MY SPECIAL PUBLISHED PIECE

I like to think that in addition to fashion, writing and editorial work are my true calling in life. There is something about the eloquence and timelessness of the written word that really ignite a spark in my soul. As an aspiring fashion editor, it should come as no surprise that one of my most prized accomplishments to date is my first published piece in Cinhte Magazine, a limited edition print magazine that is published bi-monthly, and distributed across the nation. As a fashion writer there is no greater accomplishment than picking up a magazine from a newsstand and seeing your name featured as one of the contributors, a feeling I will never forget. Oddly enough this is something that I did not broadcast to many people other that close friends and family, feeling it was too special to be displayed amongst the countless animosity portrayed on social networks. However today I am telling the world and sharing with you all, that I am indeed a published writer, and elated to be so. Its finally here, welcome to Dee.Gi.B!! After months of planning, and what seemed like years of deliberation, I've finally decided to launch my very own blog. For the last four years I have had the greatest pleasure of living, studying, and perfecting my craft in the fantasy land that is LA. In this time I have had the chance to see and experience first hand what it means to live in a city that thrives on new trends and styles, portrayed by the fashion savvy individuals that saturate the city streets. With that being said, I feel that it is time for me to share with you all of the exceptional projects I have going on, the talented people I collaborate with, things that inspire me, and a personal look at life through the eyes of a fashionista!!
